Short answer
LELOI primed mouldings are produced from radiata pine and MDF in shiplap, baseboard, casing and crown profiles, finger-jointed for stability and factory-primed ready for topcoat. Standard moisture content is 10–12%, primer is a water-based acrylic applied on all four visible faces, and profiles are supplied in 2.4–4.9 m lengths bundled and film-wrapped. Solid clear (non-finger-jointed) is available where the joint line cannot be tolerated. The specification lines that actually matter are species, moisture content, primer type and coats, joint visibility, and packing method.
Finger-joint or solid clear — which do I need?
Finger-jointed stock is more dimensionally stable than solid, not less. Short defect-free pieces are cut, jointed and glued so internal stresses cancel rather than accumulate, which is why long baseboards in finger-joint stay straighter over a heating season. Under paint the joint is invisible once primed and topcoated properly.
Solid clear is the right call in two cases: a stained or clear-finished product where the joint would show, and a customer specification that forbids joints outright. We supply both, and we will say plainly that on a painted profile you are paying more for solid without gaining performance.
What should I specify about the primer?
Four things: chemistry, number of coats, film build, and which faces are covered. A water-based acrylic primer is standard for interior trim and is compatible with the water-based topcoats most markets now use; a solvent-based primer bonds better over resinous knots but complicates your own finishing line. Two coats with an intermediate sand gives a surface that takes topcoat evenly; one coat is a sealer, not a primer, whatever it is called on the invoice.
Ask explicitly whether the back face is primed. Unprimed backs absorb moisture at a different rate from primed faces, and that imbalance is a common cause of cupping in a shipping container crossing the tropics. It costs little to prime all four sides and it removes a whole class of claim.
How much moulding fits in a container?
Moulding is a volume cargo, not a weight cargo — you will cube out a 40ft high-cube long before you approach the weight limit. Bundle dimensions and profile cross-section drive the answer far more than the profile name does, so we calculate the loading plan from your actual profile drawing and bundle spec rather than quoting a generic figure.
Two practical levers: mixing profiles in one container to fill voids, and agreeing a length mix rather than a single length. A container of 4.9 m only is elegant on paper and wasteful in a box. Send us the length breakdown your market actually sells and we will build the plan around it.

What HS code does primed moulding ship under?+
Continuously shaped wood mouldings generally fall under HS 4409, with subheadings splitting coniferous from non-coniferous — radiata pine profiles usually sit in 4409.10. MDF-based mouldings are classified under 4411 as fibreboard articles instead. Your customs broker makes the final call for your entry.
Where does the pine come from?+
Radiata pine from plantation sources in Chile and New Zealand, and pine from North America depending on the profile and the price point. Because this is imported raw material we pass through the origin documentation we receive and identify it as supplier-provided, which matters if you are building an EUDR or Lacey Act file.
Can you match an existing profile drawing?+
Yes. Send a dimensioned drawing or a 200 mm physical sample and we produce a knife to match. Tooling for a new profile takes about two weeks and we run a short sample length for your approval before committing the order. Copying a competitor's proprietary profile is your commercial and legal decision, not ours to make for you.
